A new picture book

A dreamy story about looking up.

Ida is a cumulus cloud whose head is, quite literally, in the clouds. When her teacher asks her to imagine a moment the whole world can share, she has just the idea.

A book ideated by Dammy and illustrated by Anna. Coming soon.

Portrait of Stephen Fry
“What an entirely delightful story. Shakespeare’s Hamlet looked up at the sky and saw a camel and then a whale. The enchanting story of Ida the Cloud lets us enjoy the drama and beauty of clouds… enough of the digital Cloud — look up and see what’s up there just for us. An inspired idea.”

Author

Dammy is always curious to hear people’s stories. Her introduction to food culture began at Books for Cooks, where food was shared at a communal table and cookbooks were pored over with enthusiastic fervour. She is the author of Midnight Feasts & Late Night Munchies, and the creator of Larder, a mobile community kitchen that connects strangers in the street — a sentiment Ida’s stories quietly share. The idea for Ida came from a lifelong love of looking at the sky, where even the hardest moments can be altered by watching the constant changes in the world of clouds.

Portrait of Sophie Winkleman
“A beautiful tale encapsulating how the lost art of daydreaming feeds the imagination. This alchemy leads to all forms of creative expression. Every child is Ida. We must do all we can to protect and nurture her.”
